Director of Integrations & AI Strategy at PopSockets
2018 — PresentJoined as an App Developer on the Rails OMS, moved to Integrations, was promoted to Lead Integrations Engineer, and now lead two arms of the engineering org concurrently — Integrations and AI Strategy. The AI Strategy scope formalized work that was already happening in engineering, rather than arriving as a separate promotion.
- Apache Camel migration ($350K/yr saved). Led the replacement of our MuleSoft middleware with Apache Camel, eliminating $350,000 per year in licensing while preserving every integration across Shopify, Salesforce, NAV, KingDee, Arena, Snowflake, EDI partners, and 3PL warehouses. The methodology became Unmule.
- AI strategy ownership. Lead the company’s AI strategy end-to-end — from tool evaluation and vendor selection to internal policy, rollout, and measuring impact — using AI as leverage across engineering and operations rather than as a marketing checkbox.
- Agentic workflows in engineering. Deployed agentic AI workflows that now augment our development, QA, and research processes — accelerating delivery cycles, expanding what a small team can ship, and freeing engineers from repetitive work.
- Systems integration. Spearheaded integrations across Shopify, Salesforce, Lazada, TMall, NAV, KingDee, Arena, Snowflake, and EDI, optimizing data flow across the business.
- Kubernetes/Docker migration. Led the migration of the order management system to a Kubernetes/Docker architecture, raising scalability and reliability.
- International team leadership. Led teams across the US, India, Canada, and Sri Lanka.
- Global e-commerce expansion. Brought new countries online into our e-commerce ecosystem (Japan, Australia, China, India), integrating storefronts, OMS, ERP, and 3PL for each market.
